In July 2014 the game's source code and content got open-sourced with the BSD license under the name Hostile Takeover on GitHub. Warfare Incorporated was developed by Spiffcode and published by Handmark for Palm OS, Pocket PC, PDAs and Tapwave Zodiac in 2003. The latest version of the map editor was released in 2009.

Players can create and publish their own maps with Spiffcode's desktop-based mission editor, "M". Players can either decide to make an account in order to qualify for leaderboards or to play anonymously. Users may also download custom-made maps created by other users. Players have the option to play online multiplayer as well as campaign, using a variety of maps designed by Spiffcode Inc. It was one of the first applications for PDA to feature Bluetooth and Wi-Fi multiplayer support. The game has similar gameplay to Command & Conquer and StarCraft, but it combines elements of both. Over the course of the game, ACME discovers mysterious alien technologies, such as a machine that can duplicate objects, as well as a new enemy for humanity. The player must attempt to work their way up the corporate ladder by mining the planet and finding missing security specialist Gordon Fox. Players take the role of Andy Whitmore, a junior executive at the underdog ACME Exploration Corporation, who discovered Icarus. The game focuses on two specific corporations (ACME and OMNI), who are fighting over the newly discovered planet Icarus, which holds a great wealth of galaxite, a rare and valuable mineral needed for teleportation. Warfare Incorporated is set in a future ruled by super corporations engaged in no-holds-barred competition for the resources of the galaxy.

As for now, I am working day after day to remake and improve my old mod Plastic Warfare, a dedicated BR mod for Rusted Warfare that was made way ahead of its time (not really a buzzword, but it's too advanced for 1.13 standards, that's why). Well, I might just wait for next beta build of RW for real.

Seems a good addition for third alpha instead as this update will be planned to lean on scientific concepts and stuff. As for this, I will wait for the next beta build of Rusted Warfare. Random names - actually a planned part since the beginning.So stakers will not walk on anomalies cluelessly. Hopefully, but cannot guarantee, dedicated maps for various sections in the Exclusion Zone.Specialized units like field versions of medics and traders, and possible something for better base expansion.Commando-type units for every faction - might make some big decision making for this.

There will be 3 new factions, for real: Duty, Freedom, and Mercenaries.

Honestly, I have been planning to make Alpha 1.2, but my idea for this build seems a bit major, and if I'm gonna add a big feature (again), it will be better if I should just make the 2nd alpha instead. I'm aware of various broken stuff that needs to be addressed, but most of them aren't really critical, they're just pesky little annoyance here and there. Hello!
